It starts at the Taferlruck research station, where hydrological and meteorological data are collected. It goes through the forest and along streams to a clearing and a winter gate for red deer. Since the circuit leads through the Neuhüttenwiese wildlife sanctuary, it is only accessible in summer and autumn; the route is closed between December 1st and May 16th and should not be used to protect the red deer.
