This route is stage 9 of the Albschäferweg, starting in Neresheim and ending in Ballmertshofen. Climbing from Neresheim past its Benedictine abbey, the path crosses forests and fields to Burg Katzenstein, one of Southern Germany's oldest Staufen castles. The route continues past the Härtsfeldsee lake and along the Egau through Dischingen to the Rappenmühle near Ballmertshofen.
