Kirnitzsch - Schmilka

Magnificent nature hike in Saxon Switzerland, Saxony. This hike starts at the entrance to the Felsenmühle. It heads in a south-westerly direction along the Kleiner Zschandbach stream. Along various meadows and many mountains, the trail later leads to the Reitstieg and then via the Obere Affensteinpromenade to the Idagrotte - a fascinating work of nature. The Idagrotte is a fissure and stratified joint cave. It is located on the eastern side of the Frienstein and the special thing about it is that it is possible to walk through it. The path to it is secured, but not suitable for people with a fear of heights, as you walk along a steep slope. From here you have a fantastic view of the rear part of Saxon Switzerland. A uniquely beautiful tour. On the way back, it is worth stopping at the Friensteinsquelle spring before returning to the starting point.
