Rübeland - Wendefurth dam - Rappbode dam

Spectacular circular route in the Harz National Park, Saxony-Anhalt. This route starts in the interesting cave town of Rübeland. The place is conveniently located and so you can travel by car or the Rübelandbahn. Parking is nearby. The path leads past the Birkenfeld castle ruins, which probably served to protect the ironworks in Rübeland. Some distance away, the much-sung Bode flows along, which later leads to the Rappbodetalsperre. The impressive dam wall is the highest in Germany (106.0 meters) and a real highlight. Embedded in the rough landscape of the national park, it is particularly fascinating. The "Titan RT" suspension bridge is beautiful and extraordinary (ticket prices apply for this). Those who dare to cross it can enjoy heaven and earth in equal measure here, because it is the longest rope suspension bridge in the world (see tips for more information)! For those who prefer something more down-to-earth, there is the dam wall of the Rappbodetalsperre to cross.
