This fairly long circular tour has plenty of exciting ups and downs, but also sections without major differences in altitude. You start at the car park at the Rurtalsperre Schwammenauel. You can also get here by bus. Along the Rursee lake, through forests to the Kalltalsperre dam and via Simmerath and Einruhr to the wonderfully wide Dreiborn plateau. From there along the Urftsee lake back to the starting point. There are several places to stop for refreshments along the way.
