From the car park in Hasenfeld (no parking disc at weekends, otherwise 2 hours), take the road on the left down past the houses to the Seehof landing stage of the Rursee fleet. Now you walk along the lake, where the Rursee Marathon takes place. At the second "fjord", turn right uphill to the Hubertushöhe. Here you have a great view over the lake. The next beautiful viewpoint is just a few steps further on. The route now takes you around Schmidt, past a rest area and over the windy heights of Schmidt. A forest path follows, which can become quite muddy when wet. The route is well signposted throughout. There are tasty places to stop for refreshments at the starting point and in Schmidt.
