Scenic and beautiful cycle tour in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia.
This circular tour goes along the Zollverein railway line past Zollverein, to the Rhine-Herne Canal and from there towards Zoom. From Zoom, the route follows the ore railway line back towards the south of Gelsenkirchen. The route runs almost exclusively along cycle paths, only crossing roads. The paths are unsuitable for racing bikes and are best suited to mountain bikes or touring bikes. From Zollverein to the Rhine-Herne Canal, the new cycle path can now also be used, which can replace a less beautiful section of this tour.
