Start in Wittmund, turn left off the main road towards Funnix and then left again before Funnix across the Harle. Then turn left again onto Funnixer Straße and continue to Buttforde, then northwards (turn right) to Werdum. It is possible to visit Edenserloog Castle - the only preserved chieftain's castle from the 14th century. The Werdum mill and the East Frisian coastal brewery in Werdum are also worth a visit. For animal lovers, there are several animal enclosures and a petting meadow in Werdum, not far from the spa gardens. The route continues to the coast of the Harlesiel mudflats and southwards again. You return to the starting point via Carolinensiel, Neu- and Altfunnixsiel.
