Stage 2 of the long-distance hiking trail "Ith-Hils-Weg", Lower Saxony.
The Ith-Hils-Weg runs over two striking mountain ranges in the eastern Weserbergland on a circular hike of a good 80 kilometres.
From Humboldt Lake, the route leads back to the Ith, from where you follow the Ith-Hils Trail, which has been recognised as a quality trail, to Eschershausen. The hike is characterised by a great deal of natural beauty: You pass imposing cliffs and rock formations as well as the picturesque Ithwiesen nature reserve. There are also several caves close to the route that can be visited as part of a short detour. The stage ends in Eschershausen, which can be reached from the main route via a small access path.
