The Sösestein natural monument is a free-standing cliff around 10 metres high and is popular as a climbing rock. From the Stieglitzecke car park, the trail descends quite steeply into the Obere Sösetal valley, reaching the Sösestein after a few hundred metres. The Hammersteinklippe is also nearby and well worth a visit. The Morgenbrodtshütte is also on the way, where you can get a stamp for the Harz hiking pin.
