Henzendorfer Heidetour - Naturpark Schlaubetal

The Reicherskreuzer Heide near Henzendorf is part of the Schlaubetal Nature Park and extends over large parts of the former military training area. Today it is a very special habitat and offers ideal conditions for a wide variety of animals and plants. The 4-hectare boulder park can be seen from afar and is well worth a detour for a short picnic break. Worked and unworked erratic boulders have been impressively placed in the natural heath landscape and tell their own kind of geological history. Artists from Poland and Germany have carved stones based on Celtic and Hittite models. Return to the main path and after another 1.5 km follow the signs for the newly created nature trail. The 4 km circular trail leads past the summer stable and observation tower, which promises a marvellous view over the vast heathland landscape of the nature park. It is particularly beautiful in August/September, when the heathland is in its full blaze of colour.
