The ascent to the 1613 metre high Predigtstuhl starts at the picturesque Salachsee lake. it is possible to park there. The Waxriessteig trail leads steeply and challengingly (some wooden steps and wire rope protection) from Bad Reichenhall up to the summit, including the neighbouring Berghotel Predigtstuhl. From the Predigtstuhl marvellous views of the Bad Reichenhall countryside can be enjoyed. An optional detour to the Schlegelmuldenalm is also available.
The route either returns along the same route or take the Predigtstuhl cable car back down and then return to the starting point.
