This challenging alpine hike starts at the car park at the Padinger Alm. Alternatively, there is another car park about 500 metres from the starting point. The first 5 km are almost constantly uphill until you finally reach the Reichenhaller Haus just below the summit of the Hochstaufen. This is literally clinging to the rock of the Hohenstaufen. A truly breathtaking Alpine panorama opens up from here and the 30 guests who can spend the night here can expect a magnificent sunrise and sunset, weather permitting. The hut is open in summer. The way back is via the Goldtropfsteig trail.
