The Aueralm is one of the best-known mountain huts on Lake Tegernsee. The terrace in particular, which is bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk, attracts many visitors. What's more, despite its low altitude, the alp offers breathtaking views of the Hirschberg, Roßstein, Buchstein and Wallberg mountains. This circular hiking trail starts southwest of Lake Tegernsee and takes you 32 kilometres to the alp and back. Once you reach the hut, you have really earned your break, as the ascent is quite strenuous. If you hike this route, you need to be sure-footed.
