Popular circular route in Bavaria.
Although only 500 meters in altitude have to be overcome, this route inspires with wonderful views. It is not without reason that the Aueralm is one of the most well-known alpine pastures on Lake Tegernsee. The terraces here are open from morning to night and lots of visitors enjoy the view of the Hirschberg, Roßstein and Buchenstein, as well as the Wallberg and many more. Even if it snows here in winter, the path is still easy to hike due to its low altitude. In summer it is even possible to take a stroller with you, although there are some steeper passages.
Both the ascent and the descent are very well signposted throughout.
First, the idyllic path follows the Söllbach and a little later it leads uphill to the right. After about an hour the trail reaches a beautiful vantage point with a great view of the Hirschberg. It continues uphill and to a crossroads where one should turn left. Now it's not far to the end of the forest and soon the clearing with the Aueralm appears.
