The starting point is at the Russenbräu inn in Tiefenbach. The trail leads along Waldbadstraße to the end of the village at the "Waldbad". Shortly after the Waldbad restaurant, you can decide whether to continue straight ahead or take the right-hand path via the Schönbrunnen Chapel. After about 1.1 km, this right-hand route joins the Tb7 hiking trail and after another kilometre you reach the Schönbrunnen Chapel alongside rosary wayside shrines. After approx. 200 metres you meet the alternative route again and after approx. 2.5 km you come back to the Waldbad. If you follow the path in the direction of Frauenstein, the next kilometre is the steepest part. After a further 700 metres, the path takes a sharp right up the Signalberg to the Frauenstein castle ruins, the destination of the hike. From there, the trail follows the same route back to the village of Altenschneeberg without any major changes in direction. There you can make a short detour to the castle hill and enjoy a marvellous panoramic view. You then descend to Tiefenbach via the Schneeberg slopes to the starting point.
