Forggensee Circuit

This scenic loop invites cyclists and walkers to circle Bavaria’s famous reservoir against the backdrop of the Allgäu Alps. Starting near Rieden am Forggensee, the path follows paved lakeside ways and gentle undulating country roads around the water. Broad panoramas open across the turquoise surface toward the Tannheimer mountains and the royal towers of Neuschwanstein Castle perched above Schwangau. Riders pass the impressive dam near Roßhaupten and tranquil bathing coves along the eastern shore. Well-surfaced tracks make for smooth rolling, while roadside viewpoints provide welcoming spots to rest and soak in the mountain air.
