The hike begins at the Königsstuhl. It is possible to visit the Fairy Tale Paradise, an amusement park for children. It goes past the Auerhahnenhütte, the Felsenmeerhütte and then along the Schlossvereinsweg to the Rombach fountain. Passing the castle, it goes into the historic old town, where numerous sights, cafés and restaurants await.
The starting point can be reached with the Heidelberg cable car (see tips).
