Third stage of the long-distance hiking trail Lonetal-Wanderweg, Baden-Württemberg.
The 3rd stage of the Lonetal Trail leads from Stetten ob Lontal to Hermaringen. It starts at the Vogelherd archaeological park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth seeing. After Stetten, the route leads via Kaltenburg Castle to Charlottenhöhle Cave, where a visit to the cave, the cave house and the interactive museum ("HöhlenSchauLand") is recommended. Once in Burgberg, it is worth stopping at the old mill (local history museum and mill café, open at weekends). In the direction of Bergenweiler, you walk for 2.5 km on tarmac before following the R1 signpost to the left onto a real dream path. Follow the path to Hermaringen railway station, from where you can take the train to your hotel, e.g. in Giengen/Brenz.
