In the Haßberge Nature Park there is a trail of nature to discover. The gentle low mountain range combines unforgettable landscapes with lively nature, culture and history on around 86,000 hectares.The nature park is located in the northernmost part of the Franconian Keuperland in Bavaria and lies in the triangle between Hassfurt, Bamberg and Bad Königshofen. There is something for everyone to experience here: there are adventure trails for children, youth campsites, playgrounds and many castles and palaces. There are many opportunities for half-day and full-day tours as well as long-distance hiking trails.

The route starts and finishes in Hallstadt, where there is a town hall worth seeing as well as some nice places to stop for refreshments. A major highlight is the section at "Roter Berg," which challenges runners and hikers alike but rewards them with wonderful views of the Main Valley. Due to the constant climbs and the overall distance, the trail requires excellent physical fitness.

The idyllic circular hike leads from the centre of Birnfeld in a wide arc through Bundorfer Forst. At the beginning and end of the route, there are some small inclines to overcome. The tour offers plenty of peace and quiet and several rest stops, but you should bring provisions as there are no refreshment stops along the way.
