Best wildflower trails in Remagen

This route is a certified premium hiking trail with cultural attractions large and small. The first thing you pass is the imposing Apollinarisberg monastery church, which leads to a picturesque forest pond. You then walk across pretty heathland and finally reach a small forest cemetery.

This route follows stage 2 of the Rheinburgenweg, a long-distance trail starting in Remagen and ending in Bad Breisig. The path climbs onto the Ahrplatte, passes the Reutersley viewpoint, crosses the Ahr Valley into Sinzig to see its castle and basilica, and traverses the Mönchsheide plateau before descending into the spa town of Bad Breisig. A route that has a good balance of sunny field paths and secluded forest paths. Very nice to walk with a dog. However, please keep dogs on a lead within the golf course area, as the actual area towards the forest paths has a barbed wire boundary that is not always visible at first glance. And watch out for "flying golf balls" ;-)
