Idyllic circular hiking tour in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia. Starting from the Haus Witten bus stop, you walk through the beautiful city park before entering the natural Hohenstein forest and the Buchenholz. Leisurely cycle tour near Witten Not the most demanding route, but partly on the beautiful "Rheinischer Esel" route. On the long loop, we went into a wooded area where there were lorries and other interesting things from the mining industry. It's worth stopping now and again to enjoy the view.

A very beautiful tour with many ascents and descents, great forest passages and marvellous views. The route follows the SGV's X4 cave trail for almost the entire distance (very well marked in both directions). It is possible to break off the tour at kilometre 12 and take bus 593 to Wetter (runs every hour). Accessible by bus and train. There are refreshment stops, but only towards the end of the hike.
