Best trails in Chokai Quasi-National Park
Chokai Quasi-National Park, centered on Mt. Chokai, known for its spectacular volcanic arc, was designated as a national park in 1963. Mt. Chokai, known as one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, is an active volcano and a sacred mountain also known as Dewa Fuji due to its beautiful appearance. From the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Shirakami Mountain Range, Sado Island, and Mt. Iwaki. Although the climb may be a bit strenuous, you can encounter a wide variety of flora and fauna along the trail.
Please wash away your tiredness after climbing in the nearby hot springs. It is also possible to stay overnight at the hot springs.
