Panoramic circular trail on the Rennsteig, Thuringia, Germany
The starting point of the tour is the paid hiking car park in Schmücke. It can be reached by bus and train. As the name suggests, this beautiful loop is characterised by magnificent views. The area around the Großer Beerberg, the highest point in the whole of Thuringia, or from "Pläckners Aussicht", offers particularly beautiful views. This loop is a real experience both in summer and in the winter months.
There are several places to stop for refreshments. The Suhler Hütte is open from Tuesday to Sunday and is the highest refreshment stop on the Rennsteig! (see tips)
The trail can be reached by bus to the Schmücke bus stop and there are car parks at the starting point.
