This is the third stage of the certified SaaleHorizontale quality trail, a wonderful hike through the Saale valley, starting and finishing in Jena.
The third stage of the long-distance hiking trail starts in Beutnitz and ends in Dornburg. There is not much time to warm up here: the first few kilometres are quite steep up to the Zietschkuppe. After that, however, you walk for the most part at a leisurely pace through the idyllic Tautenburg forest. Your feet will enjoy a well-earned break in the Kneipp pool at the Stockborn spring. There are overnight accommodation and refreshment stops along the way.
