You start the hike at the car park in Osterstraße in Burg. Follow Frederick-Schumacher-Straße and Mathildenstraße to Strandallee, where you reach Neue Tiefe on a cycle and footpath. At the southern end of the village, turn left towards Sahrensdorf. (Alternatively, you can take a detour to Burgtiefe.) There are beautiful poplars on both sides of the path through Sahrensdorf. At the northern end of the village, you have to cross the district road. Take care, as heavy traffic is to be expected.
Walk along the district road for approx. 100 metres until you turn off again towards Vitzdorf. Cross the next road and follow a path that takes you around Vitzdorf. After approx. 1.5 km, you come back to the road to Burg, whose winding course you follow until you come to a small wood on the left-hand side. After a sharp bend to the right, turn left onto a grassy path about 200 metres further on, which will take you back to Burg.
