LTV Almabtrieb Kiel-Ost

This extensive circular route is the traditional season finale for cycling enthusiasts in northern Germany and leads from Kiel-Ellerbek through the picturesque Probstei region. The route offers a charming ride along the Baltic Sea coast, past places such as Stein and Schönberger Strand, before turning inland to Lake Selent. Although the differences in altitude are moderate, the gentle hills and the constant coastal wind pose a continuous challenge to your stamina. The name "Almabtrieb" is a humorous allusion, as the highest elevations in the region consist of gentle terminal moraines from the last ice age. Along the way, you will pass historic manor houses and quiet villages that are typical of the East Holstein landscape. The route is characterised by smooth surfaces and sweeping views, making it a pure test of physical endurance without any technical difficulties.
