The circular route starts at the hikers' car park north of Wolkenwehe.
A highlight is the priory of St Ansgar (Nütschau) with its Renaissance manor house and eventful history. A stone plaque from the 15th century commemorates the former owner of the complex, Count Heinrich Rantzau, who is considered one of the pioneers of the Reformation. Today, however, the estate is owned by the Catholic Church.
