Beautiful hike south of Hauenstein in Rhineland-Palatinate
This route begins south of the well-known climatic health resort of Hauenstein and lies in the middle of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park biosphere reserve. The small but very interesting place is surrounded by numerous, bizarre colored sandstone rocks. The path leads through the hilly, lush green forest landscape of the Palatinate Forest and also through the Queich valley. Arriving in the Wanderheim, a stop at the "Dicke Eiche" hut rewards the effort. From here, the spectacular view of the idyllic natural setting can be enjoyed to the fullest. There are also delicacies from the hut kitchen.
