Impressive scenic hike organised by the Palatinate Forest Association in Hauenstein, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The hike can be reached by bus (Hauenstein bus stop) and is ideal for a day trip from Mannheim. If you are travelling by car, you can park at the starting point.
The hiking trail starts at the Farrenwiese hiking car park. It then leads in a southerly direction through the Queichtal valley along the water to the Dicke Eiche hiking centre. The trail then leads back to Hauenstein on the opposite side of the river and begins with a steep climb up to the "Blick ins Queichtal" viewpoint. Shortly before you reach the end, you have the opportunity to stop off at the Paddelweiher hut.
