This is a relaxing and exciting hike that starts in the climatic health resort of Trippstadt at Trippstadt Castle and leads to the historic ruins of Wilenstein Castle and through the Karlstal Gorge. The history of Wilenstein Castle dates back to the 12th century and was probably built in 1152 under Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. The buildings were partially destroyed during the Thirty Years' War and have now been partially restored.
