This circular trail is a certified premium hiking trail. Gorges and gorges in the rock bastions of the Ferschweiler plateau - especially the 28-metre-deep Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge) - reveal the impressive elemental force of nature. But this spectacular route offers even more. At 140 metres, the clear water of the Prüm fights its way between mighty boulders. A hiking bridge offers fascinating views of the rapids and the Irrealer waterfalls.
Further along the route, especially from the Liborius Chapel high above the Sûre Valley, there are wonderful panoramic views over romantic Echternach. Since the 16th century, hermit monks have inhabited the rock-cut hermitage below the chapel, the remains of which can still be marvelled at. The entrance to the Gutenbach valley is marked by the rock pond: a bizarre complex surrounded by terraces, pools, steps and bridges.
