This hike offers a peaceful journey of discovery along the Our and through the Irsen Valley. The path crosses the border bridge that connects Übereisenbach with its Luxembourgish neighbors, rebuilt in 1956 after its destruction during World War II. In the damp valley meadows, colorful wildflowers can be found in spring, while the drier uplands offer wide views over the Eifel landscape. With a little patience, hikers might spot roe deer in the thickets or signs of beavers along the riverbank....

Idyllic nature hike in Rhineland-Palatinate. Starting from Affler, the route initially leads north and north-west to Machtemesmühle. The route first leads across wide fields and then downhill through the forest to the left tributary of the Our - the Irsen. At times along its green banks, then deeper into the forest again, the route now heads south on the other side. The river is crossed there and a forest path leads back to the starting point.
