Cochem - Coraidelstein Castle

Starting in Cochem, the route follows the Moselsteig trail markings all the way to Klotten. The first climb from Cochem is very steep, but not too long. Along this northern section, the Pinnerberg hill, with the Pinnerkreuz viewpoint, offers magnificent views across the valley. Further north, walkers will find the Klotten Leisure and Wildlife Park. The Moselsteig now enters the forest and runs along the hillside on a nature trail to the Schwedenkreuz rest area, where you can take a well-deserved break. The next town on the Moselle is Klotten. Coraidelstein Castle stands out even from the path and is well worth a visit. From the station, you can take a train back to Cochem. On the banks of the Moselle lies the Klotten ferry (ferry times: Easter to the end of October), which takes you to the other side of the river. Following the footpath, it is just a few hundred metres along the Moselle to the leisure and water park, which is situated in the northern part of Cochem but on the opposite bank of the river. From there, the starting point of the walk is quickly reached.
