The Apollowweg Valwig is a wonderful hike through the steep slopes of the Moselle, starting in the traditional winegrowing village of Valwig. The route suggested here includes an extension to Brauselay. Fantastic views of the Moselle valley, idyllic paths through forests and vineyards and numerous benches along the route make for an atmospheric, relaxed hiking experience.
If you would like to observe the very rare butterfly "Apollo butterfly" that gives the trail its name, it is best to do the hike between May and August.
A stop at one of the cosy inns and wine taverns in Valwig is highly recommended after the hike.
