Beautiful circular hiking trail through the local fruit-growing region near Bad Neuenahr in Rhineland-Palatinate
The 8.3-kilometre circular pear trail from Landershofen leads through the region where more than 30 different varieties of pears are grown. But pears are not the only highlight of this hike. From the Flying Roof viewing platform, you can enjoy the distant view over the pear orchards, fields and vineyards of the Ahr valley. There is also an interesting educational bee trail with a bee colony along the way.
A short section of the circular walk takes you along the red wine hiking trail with great views of Bad-Neuenahr/Ahrweiler. And if it's the right season, you should try the "Maubikuchen". This is the traditional pear cake from Lantershofen.
There are numerous places to stop for refreshments along the route and the route is easily accessible by bus and train.
