Ahrgebirge

The starting and finishing point is the town of Ahrweiler with its beautiful old town centre. The roads are mostly of good quality and generally very quiet. It is only busier around Ahrweiler. The following climbs are on the route (clockwise): Königsfeld (from Bad-Neuenahr), maximum 7% gradient. Fuchskopf (also called Zum Amerikaner) from Königsfeld with a maximum gradient of 9%. Hainer Straße from Niederdürenbach to Hain, maximum 19% more! Engelnerkopf (from Oberzissen), maximum gradient of 16% (in contrast to the road sign, which only indicates 14%). Kirchesch (from Riedener Mühle), maximum gradient of 14%. Waldesch (from the Nitztal), maximum gradient of 12%. This is a lonely, well-paved road with many hairpin bends. Raßberg (from Arft), maximum gradient of 10%. Note: The descent is via the well-paved Wacholderweg. This area is known for its juniper berries. The juniper path offers a beautiful view. Volksfeld (from Riedener Mühle), maximum gradient of 13%. Bockshahn (south side), maximum gradient of 15% in the village of Kempenich. Climb from Niederheckenbach on the L85 towards Blasweiler (maximum gradient of 10%). Ramersbach (south side), maximum gradient of 6%.
