The second stage of the Winterberger Hochtour starts at the Astenturm and leads westwards. From the mountain station on the Sahnehang, you have a wonderful view of the Hunau with the television tower (on a clear day). You walk through the idyllic Renau valley to the Renau meadow. In wet weather, you should be sure-footed, as the roots and footbridges can be very slippery. If you wish, you can stop off in Altastenberg for a bite to eat; the hiking trail now follows the Astenweg (X14) to the Großer Bildchen.
