The seventh stage of the Sauerland-Höhenflug starts in the spa town of Altastenberg, the highest town in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route leads along natural paths and a nature trail to the Kahler Asten, a section of which runs parallel to the Rothaarsteig. There is a mountain inn, a meteorological station and a natural history exhibition on the Kahler Asten. In Mollseifen there is another opportunity for refreshments, after which there are no more refreshment stops until Hallenberg. The route continues on unspoilt paths along viewing towers to Hallenberg.
