Varied quality trail in Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia The "From Castle to Mountain" route is a certified quality hiking trail that can be reached by bus and train. Starting from the sculpture park, the trail leads around the Sparrenberg, through the botanical garden and to the Ochsenheide nature reserve. From the Bielefeld city forest, you hike up to the Johannisberg, which is known for its historic park. As you mostly walk on very easy, tarmac paths, this route is also recommended for families with children. There are places to stop for refreshments.
