Rundwanderweg B3: Freund/Vennbahn

Versatile hiking excursion in North Rhine-Westphalia. This beautiful route leads into the Indetal nature reserve and the Brander Wald forest. The start is near Brand railway station. You first walk in an easterly direction past the KAB meeting centre in Brand and then head north-east into the beautiful Indetal nature reserve. The mills in the valley and the Komeriche Mühle mill, which are located some distance along the trail, are well worth seeing. The Brander Wald forest is a delight with its good paths and the fresh, spicy air in a healthy green colour. On the way back, you will come across the well-known Vennbahnweg, a former railway line, in the Brand industrial park. Where the Vennbahn railway used to run, a cross-border long-distance cycle path has been created between Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. You cycle back to the starting point along this route. Accessible by bus and train. There are refreshment stops in the surrounding area.
