RTF Wurm - Niersquelle -Tagebaurand

Official route of the RTF organised by Radfahrclub 1909 Herzogenrath-Noppenberg e.V. This long road bike route is a considerable endurance challenge and follows the route of an RTF (cycle tour). The route is almost entirely tarmac and takes racing bike enthusiasts on a journey through the Rhineland. The route combines diverse landscapes, from the Wurm valley to the source of the Niers and the surreal, huge edge of the open-cast lignite mines. The terrain is predominantly flat, so the difficulty arises solely from the considerable distance and not from the metres in altitude.
