Best long trails in Herzogenrath

This hike starts in Herzogenrath and explores the southern Wurmtal nature reserve. The path naturally leads along the Wurmtal, a beautiful wooded area with small lakes. On the way there, you pass Wilhelmstein Castle, where the open-air theatre is located. You will also pass Rode Castle on the way back, just as the hike is coming to an end!

Hilly forest walk in the Wurmtal valley. This route starts at the car park at Erkensmühle 21, Herzogenrath. There are refreshment stops at the start of the tour, at the lake and at Wilhelmstein Castle. Wilhelmstein Castle is a particularly good place to stop and take a break. The way back leads through the fields and forests of the Broichbach valley. There are plenty of benches and shelters along the way where you can take a break.
