Nievemheim RTF - Route 161

Official route (2019) of the RTF of the RSC Nievenheim e.V. This extreme endurance cycle tour, a classic cycle tour (RTF), stretches over 161 kilometres. The route starts in the flat Lower Rhine region, but quickly heads east into the challenging Bergisches Land, an area famous for its steep climbs and winding roads. Expect thousands of metres of climbing that will require top form. Please note that long sections of the route are not signposted and therefore require GPS navigation and a downloaded GPX file. This challenging tour into the Bergisch region offers a unique insight into the contrasts of the Rhenish landscape, from the industrialised regions around the open-cast lignite mines to the wooded hills.
