Kemnader Lake, Ruhr, Baldeney Lake, and Hattingen

• Partial Closure Kupferdreh Railway Bridge: The Kupferdreh railway bridge between Essen-Heisingen and Essen Kupferdreh has been closed since 23 January 2026 until February 2027 due to construction work. The alternative route continues along the riverbank and crosses the next bridge. This varied route leads through the southern districts of Bochum and begins at the P3 Hafen Heveney car park with a climb. From there it goes into the Lottental valley along the stream that gives it its name and past the Lottenbacher ponds. The route continues along the road "Im Haarmannsbusch" in the direction of Weitmar, where it finally passes through the Weitmarer Holz. From Hörsterholz, the route begins to follow the course of the Ruhr to the popular Baldeneysee lake, where a detour can be planned. On the way back, you pass Lembeck and Ruhrbrücke until you reach the beautiful Kemnader See. There you can end the day in one of the refreshment stops or on the beach of the lake.
