The Teutoschleife Dörenther Klippen is a certified premium hiking trail. The sandstone cliffs that give the trail its name, which were formed 140 million years ago as sandbanks and deposits of a primeval sea, tower over 40 m high and offer a breathtaking view over the entire Münsterland region. Other formations worth seeing along the way are the Dreikaiserstuhl, the Königsstein and the "Das hockende Weib".
The route leads along narrow paths and wide forest tracks through shady mixed forests, as well as through meadows and past picturesquely situated farmsteads with few ascents. The route is well signposted and there are many benches to rest on.
Since 2003, the Dörenther Cliffs with their surrounding forest stands have been designated as a nature reserve.
An alternative entry point is at the "Im Bocketal" hikers' car park. If you want to travel by public transport, take bus lines S50, R20 and 163, which stop at the summer toboggan run north of the hikers' car park (accessible by bus and train).
