The Brilon ridge trail is a short, certified long-distance hiking trail which is officially divided into three stages. Despite the short distance, fitness is required. Some steep climbs in the forests of the Sauerland are quite a challenge.
The circular route starts at the market square in Brilon. Impressive views and wonderful silence characterise this hiking trail. The trail leads over the heights to the left and right of the Hoppecke, from where marvellous views can be enjoyed There are also cultural and historical highlights along the way, such as Borberg's churchyard and the fire oak, a mystical monument to Sauerland (pre)history.
