Brilon - Lippstadt

From historic Brilon, this trail leads northwards to Lippstadt and marks the picturesque transition from the heights of the Sauerland to the fertile plains of the Lippe valley. The route runs through the foothills of the Arnsberg Forest and follows the natural gradient of the landscape, passing traditional Westphalian villages and half-timbered farmsteads. Physical stamina is required to cover the total distance, although the terrain remains technically uncomplicated on a mixture of tarmac cycle paths and smooth farm tracks. The route offers a varied cross-section of the region and combines the densely wooded low mountain ranges with the wide, water-rich lowlands.
