The Amshausen circular trail A3 starts at the Friedrichshöhe hiking car park. For short sections, the circular trail runs along roads with little traffic. The last kilometre or so leads through the Jakobsberg nature reserve. The Jakobsberg is also known as the "liverwort mountain" due to the rare liverworts that grow here. When the flowers are in bloom (from around mid-March), it can get a little crowded around the Jakobsberg.
