Stage 8 of the long-distance hiking trail "Wendland Rundweg", Lower Saxony.
Schnackenburg is the starting point of the eighth stage of the Wendland Circular Trail, which runs for around 200 kilometres through the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park. Always following the course of the Elbe, it heads west towards Gorleben. You often walk along the dyke, which gives you great views of the Elbe valley. The Elbholz, a pretty forest directly on the Elbe, is particularly idyllic. There are overnight accommodation and refreshment stops at the end of the stage.
